WHO ARE PEOPLE WITH
“SPECIAL NEEDS”

Special Needs:
People with “Special Needs” are persons that are on a respirator or dialysis machine. Anyone that is bedridden, critically ill, suffering Alzheimer’s, wheelchair-bound, impaired eyesight or hearing or similar conditions are “Special Needs People”.

What do I have to Do?
If you or a member of your household have a Special Need that would make it difficult for you to successfully complete an evacuation of your home or place of business during an emergency please fill out the attached form and send it to the Mayor’s “Special Needs Program”. It’s free and it could save your life. It will take a few minutes to fill out the form.

North Brunswick needs to be prepared for any emergency or disaster. Should an emergency occur and a need for an evacuation is necessary, we need to know where people with disability are located. What their needs are and who is (are) their contact person (s). With the right preparation, an emergency doesn’t have to be a disaster.

Click here for instructions and the registration form to complete and return.

NOTE: The “Special Needs Form” must be updated at least every six (6) months or as changes occur.
