The Business Administrator is the Chief administrative officer of the Township, responsible to the Mayor and Council for the administration of all Township affairs.

The Administrator’s duties include: directing and supervising the administration of all departments, offices and agencies of the Township, assisting the Township Council in preparing the annual budget and capital program and advising the Mayor and Council as to the current financial condition and future needs of the Township and making recommendations to them concerning the affairs of the Township.

The Department of Community Development allows residents to find information and secure all necessary permits through a combination of the municipal website, e-mail, and phone.  All permit application documents and instructions can be found on our department pages.

Permit applications may be delivered by regular mail, overnight mail, e-mail when payments are not required, and most popularly the drop box in the employee parking lot of the municipal building.  Mail is collected from the drop box twice a day.

The department is temporarily operating out of a satellite office at 486 Old Georges Road that is open to the public by appointment.

Questions may be submitted through the email link on the department home page, or by calling the construction office at x450, the zoning office at x440, or the fire marshal office at x453.  We experience a high call volume and will certainly return your call if you leave a message.

The Finance and Tax offices have moved to their temporary location at 98 Renaissance Boulevard North (in front of the North Brunswick Township Middle School). Hours of operation are from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Office will be open for in-person transactions. A drop box will be installed at this location in addition to the drop box at the Municipal Complex. Drop boxes are checked daily during business hours.

Tax payments may be made in-person, online via the Township’s website or by one of the drop box locations (710 Hermann Road and 98 Renaissance Blvd).

The Finance Office may reached by phone at (732) 247-0922, extension 455, the Tax Collector’s Office at extension 460 or Tax Assessor’s Office at extension 465.

The Finance Office processes all financial transactions; accounts payable, payroll, revenue, investments, and debt issuance. Outside contractors that support the Finance Office include the independent auditor, bond counsel, and banking services.

Responsibilities of the Township’s Finance Office, in addition to processing financial transactions, include monitoring compliance with the many state and federal laws and regulations governing municipal finance, providing guidance to other Township Offices on complying with said laws and regulations, internal and external financial reporting, financial planning and other technical assistance to the Mayor and Business Administrator in preparing the annual Township Budget, monitoring spending against the adopted Township Budget.

The Municipal Clerk serves as secretary to the governing body, and is the custodian of all minutes, ordinances, resolutions, contracts, deeds and archival records of the municipality. The Township Clerk’s office issues liquor, and raffles licenses; registers voters and provides general information to the public.

The Clerk also serves as Secretary to the Council, prepares meeting agendas, attends all meetings of the Council, and provides for minutes of every meeting, as well as preservation of all ordinances and resolutions;

The Clerk is the Chief Elections Officer in all elections held in the municipality and Chief Registrar of the Voters in the Township.  Additionally, we are here to assist you. If you have a question about the Council or any issue related to the above, please call or e-mail our office. We will respond or suggest the appropriate source for the information you seek.

***TRASH COLLECTION CHANGES FOR GOOD FRIDAY – FRIDAY, MARCH 29***

Automated trash collection in Zone 3 for single-family homes with garbage collection once per week will be collected on Monday, April 1st.

Condos/Townhomes with twice a week manual trash collection will have Friday, March 29th collection suspended and collection will resume on Tuesday, April 2nd.

No Bulk appointments will be scheduled for March 29th. Appointments will resume the following week.

Recycling: There are NO changes to the recycling schedule, normal collection will take place on March 29th.
