Public Safety Telecommunicator Trainee – Department of Public Safety

Salary Range: $45,000 – $75,500

Full/Time: 4 days on, 2 days off rotating schedule

Work Week Hours: 8 hours shifts

Job Requirements:

Must comply with requirements set for under New Jersey Civil Service Commission Title 07418 for Public Safety Telecommunicator Trainee. Appointees must successfully complete training and obtain certification by the Officer of Emergency Telecommunications Services (OETS) in the Department of Law and Public Safety as required by NJAC 17:24- 2.2, during the trainee period. Job Description:

The North Brunswick Township Police Department has openings for Full Time Public Safety Telecommunicators (PST). Our PST’s provide a vital link between our citizens and Township Police, Fire, and EMS services. Our Communications Center is a fast-paced environment with the responsibility of coordinating emergency services through our dedicated Public Safety Answering Point for a 12 square mile community of over 40,000 residents. Under close supervision as a trainee and productive worker, this position receives and responds to telephone or other electronic requests for emergency assistance including law enforcement, fire, medical, or other emergency services and/or dispatches appropriate units to response sites.
