WEATHER ALERT: NO PARKING ON ROADWAYS – Due to the Blizzard Warning in effect for our area, significant snowfall and hazardous road conditions are expected. Effective Sunday morning, no vehicles may be parked on any roadway to allow for proper snow plowing and emergency vehicle access. NEW JERSEY AND NORTH BRUNSWICK STATE OF EMERGENCY EFFECTIVE 12 PM, SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 22
Due to current conditions, the North Brunswick Municipal Building will open on a delayed schedule tomorrow, Monday, February 23, at 12:00 p.m. Residents are encouraged to plan accordingly. Any additional updates will be shared through the Township website and official social media channels as they become available.

All DPRCS recreation programs and activities are cancelled Monday, February 23
Monday, February 23 recycling has been cancelled and moved to Saturday, February 28
Trash Collection/Bulk Appointments cancelled for Monday, February 23
Monday, February 23 Township Council has been CANCELLED, rescheduled to Monday, March 2

Blizzard Warning – Winter Storm Information

February 21, 2026

A Blizzard Warning is in effect from 10 AM Sunday to 6 PM Monday for snow accumulations between 16 to 20 inches, along with wind gusts as high as 45 mph. Snowfall rates could exceed 2 inches per hour. Blowing and drifting of snow and whiteout conditions are possible. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.

Travel will be very difficult to impossible. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.

The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning and evening commutes.

Governor Mikie Sherrill declared that New Jersey will enter a State of Emergency effective at 12 p.m. tomorrow, Sunday, February 22.

SHOVELING

Please make sure to shovel your sidewalks following the storm to ensure safety for pedestrians. Sidewalks must be shoveled within 24 hours after the snowfall has ended.

Please do NOT throw snow into the street when clearing your property. The Township code prohibits casting snow onto Township roadways. 

If you live near a fire hydrant, please help the Fire Department and your neighbors, by shoveling around the hydrant. This could be a life saving measure!
