Marine Corps veteran honored at North Brunswick Veteran Street Sign Ceremony

North Brunswick honored United States Marine Corps veteran Ling Tsui by dedicating Hartland Commons and Wimbeldon Court as Tsui Way on Monday, November 4.

Ling was born on November 13, 1982 in New Brunswick, New Jersey.

Ling earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Berkeley College in Criminal Justice as well as a Master’s Degree from Seton Hall in Human Resources. He began his Service Training at the Aviation administration and security detachment, as well as Boot Camp at Parris Island in South Carolina in 2003.

Ling, as a United States Marine Corp Sergeant (USMC), served from January 2003 to January 2007. He served in Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF). Honors received during his service include: The Good Conduct Medal, a two-time Sea Service Ribbon recipient, Iraq Campaign Medal, Certificate of Appreciation, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and Expeditionary Medal.

Ling participated in Operation Infinite Moonlight in August 2005 with Marine Helicopter Squadron 162 with the 26th Marine expeditionary unit conducting multiple operations in the Middle East. While deployed, he was assigned to multiple convoy details and led his squadron’s security detail while conducting missions in Jordan. After returning from his deployment, he volunteered to deploy with Marine light attack helicopter squadron 269 after 3 months because they were short on personnel.

Ling currently resides in Milltown, New Jersey and is employed as a police officer in North Brunswick Township in patrol and has been for the past fourteen years. He is greatly valued by his department and colleagues. He was honored with multiple lifesaving awards, personal citations and unit citations. He is blessed with his loving wife, Cindy Ren-Tsui and daughters five-year-old Charlotte and four-year-old Abigail Tsui.

Ling’s favorite hobby is fishing. He also loves going to the beach to listen to the ocean waves. He jumps at the opportunity to be in nature as well as creating wonderful memories with his family.
