At the September 22nd Township Council Meeting, Mayor’s Wellness/Fitness Challenge winners and participants received awards and proclamations were read which honored Disability Voting Rights Week and Americans with Disabilities Act Awareness Day.
Dr. Jackie Jackson, a strong advocate for the Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society and various disability organizations, accepted the proclamations.
“This proclamation (Americans with Disabilities Act Awareness Day) reminds us to recognize and reflect not only on the progress but to recognize this important law because it protects people with disabilities,” she said.
Dr. Jackson also commended North Brunswick for their efforts in being an accessible town and encouraged other towns to follow their lead.
