North Brunswick honors Air Force veteran Street Sign Ceremony

North Brunswick honored United States Air Force veteran Timothy Awojobi by dedicating Livingston Avenue and North Oaks Boulevard as Awojobi Way on Monday, April 8.

Timothy was born in Union, New Jersey and attended Union High School.

Mr. Awojobi enlisted in the Air Force in February 2016 after graduating from Kean University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications. He completed Basic Military Training and Technical Training School (Lackland AFB), graduating in the top tier of his class on September 13, 2017.

Timothy, from January 2018 through June 2019, completed and became a distinguished graduate from Kean University with a Master of Public Administration degree. On August 21, 2021, Mr. Awojobi was called to Active Duty to support the Afghan refugee mission which was deemed a Title 10 global war humanitarian crisis. Mr. Awojobi was honorably discharged from active military duty on February 1, 2022. Currently, Mr. Awojobi is the CEO/Founder of TTA Empire Inc.; a veteran and minority owned nonprofit specializing in veteran’s outreach, educational scholarships, and mental awareness.

Timothy’s assignments included Joint Task Force, PERSCO / Village 1,2,3/ Supply 9 Mobilized Contingency, August 2021 – February 1, 2022 and served in support of Operation Allies Refuge/Operation Allies Welcome – Contingency Operation, Title 10 USC, August 2021 – February 1, 2022.

Timothy received the following distinguished awards: Air Force Commendation Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, National Defense Medal, Air Force Achievement Medal with oak cluster, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with a silver oak leaf cluster, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, Air Reserve Forces Meritorious Service Medal with a silver oak leaf and one oak leaf clusters and the Air Force Longevity Service Award.

Timothy in his leisure time enjoys working out at the gym, cooking, traveling, volunteer/charity work, and listening to music.
