Soliciting Licenses

No person shall canvass, solicit or call from house to house in the Township without having first reported to and received a permit from the Township Clerk.

Before a permit is issued, the canvasser or solicitor must complete an application and criminal history check.

This is what an official Township-issued solicitor permit looks like. This permit must be worn around the solicitor’s neck and fully visible at all times while soliciting within the Township.

North Brunswick maintains a Do Not Knock Registry, which identifies residences where solicitation is strictly prohibited. Solicitors are not permitted to approach or knock on any address listed on the Do Not Knock Registry. It is the sole responsibility of each solicitor to review the most current version of the registry before beginning solicitation each day.
