The American Veterans Traveling Tribute (AVTT) will be coming to North Brunswick at Veterans Park (Roosevelt Avenue) from Friday, May 23 through Memorial Day, Monday, May 26.
The AVTT Traveling Vietnam Wall is an 80% replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. The Wall contains the names of U.S. Military personnel who lost their lives in the Vietnam War. Accompanying the Wall will be Cost of Freedom tributes to every U.S. military action since World War I.
An escort is scheduled on Friday, May 23 at approximately 9:25 a.m. from Raider Road to Roosevelt Avenue. (Please arrive no later than 9:05 a.m.) A proclamation will be read at 10 a.m.

Volunteer Information
The Township is seeking volunteers who would like to stand by the Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall to show respect and gratitude for those who made the ultimate sacrifice and who are serving to ensure our freedom.
Volunteers are also being sought to help set up the wall panels on Friday, May 23 at 10 a.m. It will take approximately two hours.

Q: What is the AVTT Travelling Vietnam Memorial Wall?
A: The American Veterans Traveling Tribute (AVTT) Vietnam Memorial Wall will be coming to the Township of North Brunswick at Veterans Park from May 23-26. An 80 percent scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., the wall measures nearly 400 feet long.
The AVTT Vietnam Wall contains every name etched on the original memorial. Since its inception, hundreds of thousands of people across the U.S. have viewed the wall. The Wall contains the names of over 58,000 U.S. soldiers killed during the Vietnam War.
There will also be a display called the Cost of Freedom Tribute – smaller tribute panels honoring American sacrifices in conflicts through the 20th and 21st centuries, including WWI, WWII, 9-11, Afghanistan and Iraq.
AVTT is a veteran-owned and operated non-profit organization that manages the Traveling Vietnam Wall.
The wall and tribute panels will be accessible to the public at Veterans Park beginning in the afternoon of Friday, May 23. It will remain in place through Memorial Day, Monday, May 26. The public is invited to view the wall for free at any time.
Q: Is there a way to find or look up someone’s name on the Memorial Wall?
A: Yes, Names can be looked up online at virtualwall.org.
Q: Can I make a rubbing of a name on the Wall?
A: Yes. You are welcome to use your own paper and a crayon or pencil. Virtual etchings are also available online when you look up a specific person.
Q: What are the details for the Opening Ceremony?
A: Residents and surrounding communities are invited and encouraged to arrive to Veterans Park by 9:05 a.m. on Friday, May 23 and park inside the Veterans Park parking lot .The Wall will travel down Roosevelt (in between the NBTHS and Judd Elementary School). We ask all greeters to line the sidewalks on both sides on Roosevelt no later than 9:15 a.m. The Memorial Wall will turn into Veterans Park and stop close to the Memorial and a proclamation will be read by Mayor Francis “Mac “ Womack III, Township Council members and staff.
At 10:15 a.m. the wall will begin to be assembly and volunteers 18 and over are encouraged to sign up to assist on the Township website.
Q: What if it rains?
A: Both the Wall and the programming are rain or shine. Some programming, such as the helicopters, or fly over, may be affected by the weather.

Garden State Parkway South to exit 130 U.S.-1 N/US-1 S to Newark / Trenton – go South, continue on U.S.-1 to Route 130 South. Turn right on to Raider Road. Make a left on to Roosevelt Avenue. Follow for a half mile to Veterans Park.
