Craigslist Safe Zone

With Craigslist and other online markets rising in popularity, the idea of meeting stranger(s) to conduct transaction in an unfamiliar place can have a criminal element.

Safe Zone Purpose

The purpose of the “Craigslist Safe Zone” is to ensure safety for all parties involved in the transaction. By being in a well lit, video surveillance area, it protects everyone while reducing the possibilities of being scammed or worse. By having the “Craigslist Safe Zone” at the North Brunswick Township Police Headquarters, it is a preventive measure to deter any/all criminal activity with these online market transactions. An additional benefit of the safe zone is that will keep officers available to provide other necessary services within the township. In addition, by conducting transactions at police headquarters, we believe this would deter sellers from selling stolen, fake goods.

Safe Zone Location

The North Brunswick Township Police Department “Craigslist” Safe Zone is located in the lobby of police headquarters, 710 Hermann Road. It can be used 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with no cost to anyone.  Our mission is to keep our residents safe and reduce their chances of victimization with this initiative.

*Remember, if it is too good to be true, it normally is.
